San Diego, California β Today, the ΐΟΎΕΖ·²θ presented past ΐΟΎΕΖ·²θ Chairman Mike Card, president of Combined Transport Inc., Central Point, Oregon, with the federationβs Cathy Evans Highway to Victory Award for his advocacy work on behalf of the trucking industry.
βMike has grown a small family trucking company into a leading employer in his home state of Oregon,β said ΐΟΎΕΖ·²θ Executive Vice President of Advocacy Bill Sullivan. βHe has leveraged that vital economic importance to make his voice heard with leaders of Congress and his state government. He is a shining example of how our industry can innovate its message and build relationships that make a difference with policymakers that make a difference.β
While serving as ΐΟΎΕΖ·²θ Chairman from 2012-2013, Card was a driving force behind the creation of LEAD ΐΟΎΕΖ·²θ, the Federationβs leadership training program. He is currently chairman of the ΐΟΎΕΖ·²θ Litigation Center and has also been a member of the American Transportation Research Instituteβs board of directors, chairman of the Oregon Trucking Association, a longtime and active support of TruckPAC.
Named for longtime ΐΟΎΕΖ·²θ lobbyist Cathy Evans, the Highway to Victory Award is presented annually to an ΐΟΎΕΖ·²θ member who has made significant contributions to the Federationβs advocacy efforts at the state and federal level. Past winners include:
